A Boost in Battery Life and Stability
The GoPro HERO12 Black has a 27MP image sensor that can record 5.3K60 video, but its improved battery life, HyperSmooth 6.0 technology, and expanded Bluetooth wireless enhance its capabilities. The image sensor easily captures 27MP RAW photos and 5.3K60, 4K120, and 2.7K240 video. HyperSmooth 6.0 with AutoBoost reduces image cropping and preserves footage. Improved power management lets the HERO12 record video 2x faster than previous models.
High-Quality HDR Images
To render more detail in your shadows and highlights, HDR was enabled for both video (5.3K and 4K) and photo modes. Up to 27MP RAW photos or up to 5.3K60 video can be captured with cinematic image quality and fine details. Using the Quik app, you can even extract 24.7MP frames from your videos. Record 2.7K video at 240 frames per second for 8x slow motion playback.
HyperSmooth 6.0 with AutoBoost
AutoBoost performance in upgraded HyperSmooth 6.0 lessens image cropping, which otherwise might jeopardize your framing. Even if your camera rotates completely, 360° Horizon Lock keeps your footage steady and level.
Bluetooth Audio Connectivity
To record better audio, pair the HERO12 with compatible Bluetooth devices, such as a wireless microphone. Wireless headphones can even be used to monitor recorded audio or to enable voice commands in noisy environments. In order to verify that the HERO12 received the command, listen to camera alerts through your headphones.
Pro or Easy Control Modes
Using the HERO12's two control modes, select between point-and-shoot ease and complete camera control. You can quickly finish a shot by framing it and pressing the shutter button thanks to simple control. Toggle between widescreen and mobile shots, slow motion, night effects, and other adjustments by tapping the 2.27" rear touchscreen. All modes, settings, and features can be customized using pro controls and then saved as presets.
Improved Battery Life
In combination with the Enduro battery, the HERO12's improved battery efficiency provides a 2x increase in power longevity over the previous model. Record continuous 1080p30 video for more than 1.5 hours or 5.3K60 video for 70 minutes.
New Interval Tools
While you practice your tennis swing or take shots at the goal, set the interval photo tool to take pictures of all the action at predetermined intervals. HingSight records up to 30s of video before you press the record button, ensuring that you don't miss a shot even if you press the shutter too late. For simple photo time-lapses, Scheduled Capture turns on the GoPro and takes a picture up to 24 hours in advance. Duration From 15 seconds to three hours of video can be captured by capture.
Night Effects and Time Lapse
Star Trails uses Earth's rotation to create light trails with the stars in the sky.
Light Painting converts moving light into brushstrokes.
Vehicle Light Trails records the movement of nighttime traffic lights.
Timecode Sync
The camera timecode can be easily synced if you have more than one HERO12, making multi-camera editing simple. To speed up post-production, this feature is compatible with Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, and other editing programs.
More Enhanced Features
Choose between capturing 8-bit or 10-bit color for smoother gradations in your footage.
GoPro exclusive HyperView digital lens takes the 8:7 aspect ratio footage captured by the new image sensor and delivers it as a wide-angle 16:9 shot for immersive POV video.
Plug your HERO12 in when connected to your home Wi-Fi and automatically upload your footage to the cloud. A highlight video is sent to your phone and can then be edited with beat-synced music and effects.
GoPro Quik App
You can edit your video footage, edit highlight videos that are created automatically, or create your own videos using simple tools. After recording, swap out your digital lenses, enlarge the best shots, and make thumbnails for your upcoming YouTube or social media posts. Without using the camera's USB-C connection, wirelessly upload video to the Quik app.
Waterproof, Weatherproof, Durable
The camera itself can withstand depths of up to 33'. Lens flare is eliminated by a water-repellent lens cover, resulting in incredibly clear images and video. A 1720mAh rechargeable battery that is included has improved cold temperature performance for bad weather.
